At a glance, the tablet can be comparable to Apple’s iPad but it has certain advantages and features that can’t be found on the latter.
Pros: This tablet is made up of plastic which makes it very light compared to iPad weighing only at 0.84 pounds. The design looks modern and sleek and unlike other tablets where two hands are being utilized, this tablet requires only one hand. It’s like having a bigger smartphone. Only the user doesn’t necessarily have to put the gadget next to his/her ears to talk on the other line because headphones or a Bluetooth headsets are available. You can also use the speakers during a voice call. The only thing that is not possible with this one is using the traditional method of placing the tablet onto your ears. (Imagine walking down the street with a big rectangular device on your ear). This tablet is very good at multitasking because of its task manager which allows quick switching from one application into another. Its screen resolution is 1024 x 600 pixels which isn’t as high as the ipad but the screen has a better pixel density (192 pixel density per inch) which makes web page reading and web browsing a much pleasurable experience. Samsung galaxy tablet has a high touch sensitivity making it more comfortable and easy to use even with the slight movement and tapping of the fingers. Video conferencing is possible through wi-fi and it also includes all types of mobile and wireless network connectivity. The device also has a dual camera with its 3 megapixels that comes with a LED flash, in which a person can take reasonable shots in it. It has a good memory storage which 16GB and it can be expanded using microSD cards. The software just like the other Samsung Galaxy S phone comes with a Touch Wiz UI. The home screen can have up to nine desktops which the user can glide from left to right that comes with widgets and icons with application
Cons: The voice call feature is disabled on the US. The battery is inaccessible meaning it has to be changed by the service company if it suddenly loses its capacity Moreover, the battery cannot be charged via a desktop or even a laptop. The quality of the camera needs more upgrade.
Summary: Samsung galaxy tablet can be considered as the most challenging competitor of Apple’s iPad because of its features and applications that iPad lacks. It has a modern and sleek design; it is snappy and fast and can efficiently multitask without the constant fear of any freezing if there are a lot open apps.
